Who are you and where do you play?
The Australian Defence Force Wargaming Association (ADFWGA) was created in 2011 to allow likeminded Defence members the ability to enjoy their hobby in a fun, friendly and enthusiastic environment. The ADFWGA only meets once per year to hold its annual championships hosted by the ADFWGA committee and tournament experts WW40k.
The ADFWGA has 3 main aims:
1. To promote the tabletop wargaming hobby as an alternative recreational activity within Defence, that promotes tactical planning and thought process and an outlet for stress and PTSD.
2. To hold a yearly championships where unit teams can compete over multiple game systems.
3. To raise funds for our chosen Military Charity.
What do you play?
At our Annual General Meeting each year the games for the following years event are decided. This year will see units compete in Warhammer 40000, Warhammer Fantasy and Flames of War(Late War). We also run lots of novelty events and mini games including X Wing, Warhammer 40k HW Bash, Speed Painting and Masterclass Lessons for participants.
Applications for membership can be submitted by all current serving ADF Personnel, EX Serving ADF Personnel, Defence Public Servants and Fulltime Defence Contractors. There are no membership fees.
