  • Using Incursion Battle Size
  • Starting with 6 Command Points
  • Imperial Armour and Legends Units are allowed

You must have the 9th ed. 40K Rulebook and the relevant Codex/ Supplements on the day to take part in the Tournament. These can be purchased in store on the day if necessary.

Official GW digital copies of the Codex are fine but must be brought in to take part.

Things you need to bring with you:

Be sure to bring the following items with you on the day of the tournament:

  • Your 1000-point Army. All models MUST be WYSIWYG - Please check with the TO before the day if you are unsure.
  • 5 typed and itemised copies of your 1000-point army list (one for you and one for each of your opponents)
  • Warhammer 40,000 9th Edition Rulebook
  • Warhammer 40,000 Grand Tournament Mission Pack
  • Warhammer 40,000 Chapter Approved 2020 Edition
  • Your Codex(es) & relevant FAQ
  • 3x Customised Battlefield Objectives markers
  • Tape Measure & Dice set
  • Plastic & Super Glues (for emergency repairs)
  • A positive & fun attitude.

All players are encouraged to bring their own gaming resources for the tournament.

You will have the opportunity to purchase any resources you need before the start if required.

Tournament Scoring:

There will be placings based on your total Tournament Points scored through your 4 games and Painting scores. Note, there will not be prizes based on your placings as this is not a competitive Tournament. Your scores will help determine your opponents using “Swiss” pairings method.

Painting & Modelling:

This category rewards players when it comes to modeling and painting their army. The Tournament Organiser(s) will judge the painting of your Army after the 1st Round during Lunch and will use the following guide:

Exceptional appearance (6-10 points) – As below but extra attention to highlights/shading, conversion work evident on some or all models, extra effort has gone into models bases, the army may even have a display board.

(If you have obviously taken the time to put extra effort into your army then this is the score you should expect).

Tabletop standard (3-5 points) – All models are painted with highlights/shading, bases have been painted and basing material used (If you army is painted to tabletop gaming standard then this is the score you should expect).

Unfinished work (1 point) – Unfinished or painting is simply base colours and no highlights/shading; bases may or may not be finished.

Not Painted (0 points) – Not painted

Army Composition:

Your army list must be submitted either in person at The Combat Company or via email to kishan@thecombatcompany.com.au by no later than 6pm on Saturday the 15th May, or you will lose 5 points from your final score in the tournament.

Writing Your Army List

When writing your army list, you must:

  • Include all the models in your army, their points value and the points value of any upgrades or equipment they have.
  • Spend no more than 1000pts
  • Use the most current FAQs released before the final army list submission date, from the Warhammer Community website.
  • Double-check all your calculations.
  • Ensure that any additional wargear purchased from your codex is represented on your models.
  • NO BATTLESCRIBE FORMAT

If you use an army list that has not been submitted and checked by the due date, you gain zero battle points for any game in which that list has been used, so please, ensure your army list is accurate for the army you will be bringing and make sure it is submitted on time!
